The Ballad of Covid
(Sung to the tune of the Gilligan’s Island Theme)
Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale
A tale of the Covid trip
That started on a chopping block, a bloody, slimy drip
The airports they were crowded, the pilots brave and sure
The passengers on board that day, for an around the world tour
Around the world tour
They fevered and they start to cough, the meals they were tossed
Instead of serving drinks that day, crews should have thrown them off
They should have thrown them off
The planes set down around the world, amid man woman and child
The passengers, the Covid too
The millionaires, and their wives
The movie stars, the professors and the fear began
Covid is here for awhile
So this is the tale of the Covid trip, It’s here for a long long time
We’ll have to make the best of things, it’s an uphill climb
The front line staff, the doctor’s too
Will do their very best
To save the lives of those they can
In this Covid mess
No jobs, no trips, no soft TP
Not a single luxury
Like living in a third world town
Not where we want to be
So park your car, hunker down
You’re sure to hide awhile
From Covid and it’s tragedy
We’ll bear the Covid Trial!
